Supporting Jyoti Gondek’s Calgary mayoral campaign and creative teams in many aspects, I took on the role of live-stream event director.

As this campaign ran during COVID-19, many of what would have been in-person events were cancelled or had to be re-imagined for to be an isolated and COVID precaution compliant activity. With this in mind, I worked with Jyoti and the team to design a processes and studio space to host the now Mayor and her remote guests. This meant learning a new cloud-based streaming platform, plus implementing and managing all lighting, background, audio, video, and all support systems.

As director, I also worked with Jyoti’s support team to storyboard and plan each event. Although these were unscripted events, we had to plan and test how each guests would join, could they join, peeping them for the process of being a remote digital guest, and directing all on and off camera activity. This included all technical support before, during, and after each event.
